Cookies and trackers

This page describes the cookies and trackers used by Odeet, their purposes and the available controls.

This English version is provided for convenience only. In case of discrepancy, the French version prevails.

Principle

A cookie or tracker is information stored on or read from the user's device. Some trackers are strictly necessary for the service to work; others require information and, depending on their purpose, prior consent.

Strictly necessary trackers

  • Better Auth session and authentication cookies: keeping you signed in and securing the account.
  • Language or interface preference cookie: remembering the selected language.
  • Technical security trackers: abuse prevention, route protection and dashboard operation.
  • Trackers required by Stripe for payment during checkout or in the customer portal.

Audience measurement

The public website measures its traffic with Umami, a tool hosted by Odeet on its own servers in France (OVHcloud). Umami sets no cookie and stores nothing on your device. It only produces anonymous statistics: pages viewed, referring site, browser and device type, approximate location (country, city). Your IP address is not kept, visits are not tracked across websites, and the data is neither shared with third parties nor used for advertising. In line with the recommendations of the CNIL (the French data protection authority), this measurement is exempt from consent. The dashboard and shared report links are not measured. To object, turn on “Do Not Track” in your browser, which the tool respects, or block the /ev/script.js script.

Non-essential trackers

As of the date of this policy, Odeet does not use advertising cookies or trackers that require consent. If such trackers are added, Odeet will have to display a mechanism allowing consent to be given, refused and withdrawn with the same ease.

Technical measurement and errors

The service may collect limited technical information to diagnose errors and secure the application. This processing is not used to profile users for advertising purposes.

Durations

  • Session cookies are kept for the duration required by the session or account security.
  • Language preferences are kept for a limited time to improve the user experience.
  • If a consent banner becomes necessary, the expressed choice will be kept for a reasonable period, generally 6 months.
  • Audience statistics are deleted 25 months after the visit.

Managing cookies

You can configure your browser to block or delete cookies. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent signing in, paying or using some dashboard features.
